Description: This photograph was taken the morning after this blue car had been washed and polished. With clear skies overnight, radiation allowed dew to form on the clean and smooth metal surface. A variety of dew drop sizes can be seen, from large, where some drops have amalgamated to very small. Two days later in similar meteorological conditions the dew drops were all of similar size. Evaporation of the dew revealed the probable reason – a fine cover of dust which acted as condensation nuclei but which were not present on the first night of dew formation.
