Description: This picture was taken close to the Pic de Nore, a summit of the Montagne Noire, enjoying great sunny weather after a snow storm under intense north-west wind. We can imagine the extreme conditions faced by these pines during tough days of cold and humid wind. The snow mounts close to two or three meters, and the pine branches are covered with frost. The second plan shows the Corbières region with lower mountains just above the fog, the third plan a small part of the Pyrenees.
