Description: This picture shows some sun halos above the Astronomy Platform at the French-Italian base (3,233 meters at 123°20' E 75°06' S). Sun halos are usually formed by ice crystals floating in cirrus clouds, but it is also possible to see them without clouds when temperatures are very low.
