Description: The original photos of the panorama were taken at the Agrometeorological Observatory, in the special lights of an early July "volcanic sunrise" - nearly a month after the eruption of the Sarychev, a stratovolcano covering almost the entirety of Matua Island in the Kuril Islands, Russia. Glowing colours caused by volcanic aerosol clouds made the sight a bit more dramatic, yet the title refers not to the phenomenon, but has a rather symbolic meaning: science of meteorology standing before a period full of critical difficulties and issues of great significance, but high hopes as well.
