Description: This picture taken at noon shows the effect of high energetic ocean-atmosphere interaction combined with abrupt tall rising landmasses at its best. Mount Esja with a height of almost 1,000 metres rises right from the shore and is a popular hiking area, famous for its stunning view onto the Icelandic capital. The picture has been taken from Reykjavík’s newest cruising liner pier towards the island of Viðey, on which the oldest stone building of Iceland accomodated the Danish governor and also shelters Yoko Ono's so-called Peace Tower.
